Purchaser (with estimating)
Purchasing Associate Essential Duties:
Develop and maintain relationships with regionally-focused pool of qualified subcontractors;
Create and document the Purchase Scope on commercial construction projects;
Expedite the purchasing and buy-out processes on projects;
Identify and take advantage of opportunities to enhance project profit margins through strategic purchasing;
Coordinate the development and execution of legally binding contracts with subcontractors and suppliers;
Communicate and collaborate with members of management and staff within the Group and throughout the company;

Estimator Essential Duties:
Analyze and compile data for labor, materials, special machinery requirements, and location;
Review preliminary drawings and specifications and determine quantity of materials and labor;
Prepare project cost summaries (e.g., costs of materials, equipment, labor, subcontracts, taxes, insurance, overhead, markup, and any other costs affecting the project);
Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid;
Executes take-offs of construction documents;
Obtains pricing for materials and obtain bids from subcontractors;
Prepare estimates (cost plans, cost strategies, change order reviews);

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with industry practices, processes, and standards; knowledge of applicable building codes
Able to read, interpret, prepare and work from plans, drawings and sketches
Knowledgeable in current industry estimating software
Communication and organization skills

Education/Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in experience purchasing, estimating, project management or related discipline, with a commercial general contracts construction company
Applicable four-year degree (in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field) from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of standard construction practices and processes, construction materials, and related applications
Experience with estimating software (Timberline
