We are looking for a proven Electrical Engineer to work with our multiple world class advanced technology clients in the Farmingham, MA area. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to manage the ever-changing landscape of technology and how it's used worldwide. This individual will be responsible for working on large scale design projects from high density data centers to life sciences and nanotechnology manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will manage and direct design staff, prepare proposals work with other electrical design staff to develop designs, details, and specification standards, and mentor junior staff regarding technical development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Function as the Electrical Engineer in the design and preparation of construction documents, while providing technical direction to other engineers, designers and drafters assigned to specific projects.
Client interaction including presentations at various stages of the project.
Ensure that Discipline QA reviews are being conducted and recorded per company policies.
Provide upfront engineering services including studies and concept development.
Design, develop and implement solutions for the microelectronics and other industrial facilities.
Produce and check complex 2D and 3D Design Drawings for high technology facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications and procedures.
Responsible for coordination and multidiscipline clash checking including the resolving of issues using Navisworks.
Provide design support during the construction phase of projects.
Site surveys of existing services to ascertain “As built” conditions.
Mentor junior staff regarding technical development.
Ability to create one line diagrams and calculate connected load.
Competency in laying out electrical equipment on the plan and coordinate with mechanical, process, architectural and structural discipline.
Capable of sizing feeders and OCPD.
Understanding of NEC, NFPA and building codes.
Knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems.
Ability to route major conduit runs and large cable trays through the facility in coordination with other disciplines.
Proficiency in modeling of electrical circuits and running engineering analysis using SKM and EasyPower.
Experience with grounding grid, cable pulling and lighting calculation software.
Experience with editing Division 26 specifications from master templates.
Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word.
Solid understanding of the execution of BIM on projects and proficiency in the use of 3D AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
Must be able to handle pressured situations effectively to meet aggressive project schedules.
Team player with the ability to work well under pressure.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of relevant experience.
Semiconductor, life sciences and data center/mission critical facility experience is preferred.
Engineer In Training (EIT) desired.
Previous experience on a number of BIM projects.
Ability to integrate as part of a team to meet the Client Deliverables.
Proven experience with progress reporting at all management levels.
