Job Description:

The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated, self-starter. The successful candidate is preferred to have a working knowledge of typical job shop flow, machining principles and machine capabilities. The Production Manager will ensure that the production operations deliver the highest quality product to the customer in the shortest possible time and lowest cost by continuously developing people and processes and through the relentless elimination of operational waste.
The Production Manager is expected to work effectively with all parts of the organization and develop their team while also engaging in their own ongoing training and development. Fortitude, humility and a dedication to transparency and problem-solving in the relentless quest to satisfy the customer needs are key to the position's success.

Job Duties:
Communication - The Production Manager is responsible for daily communications with the production and cell supervisors, managers and the Director of Manufacturing. Clear expectations are to be flowed down to supervisors via work assignment reports, metrics boards, etc. The Production Manager is responsible for managing pass-downs between shifts to ensure the shop runs without undue interruptions.
Planning - The Production Manager shall coordinate with the planning manager to ensure On-Time-Delivery meets or exceeds our internal metrics. Issues with scheduling, capacity and lead times shall be dealt with quickly and late or "at risk" jobs will be communicated to customer service at the earliest opportunity.
Operations Support - The Production Manager shall guide, support and develop production teams and cells. Through development of people, processes and equipment, the Production Manager is responsible for executing the strategic vision of upper management.
Promote Quality - The Production Manager shall set the example to manufacturing for what quality is. They shall conform to and work to improve our Quality Management System.
Growth and Training - The Production Manager is responsible for maintaining a cross functional team via the Cross Training Program. They are responsible for executing supervisor selections of candidates who can perform at high levels throughout the organization and afford them the tools and training to be successful. They shall also identify training opportunities for themselves to increase their knowledge and skill.
Industry Awareness - The Production Manager shall stay current on industry standards and innovations will look for cutting edge capabilities to be added to our core competencies. Visits to local colleges, national trade shows and manufacturer's open houses will be necessary activities. Working with the continuous improvement team, embracing and driving change are key to success in this position.
Safety and Accountability - The Production Manager shall promote a safe manufacturing work environment. Weekly intentional walks should be done with a focus on safety related issues. Acting quickly when concerns are raised and proactively promoting a safe work environment are key.

Job Requirements:
Education, Experience, Certifications, Licenses - Required: High School diploma or GED. 10 years' of industry related experience, preferably 5 years in a position of leadership.


Journeyman level machinist with lathe, mill and fabrication knowledge.
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret advanced technical documents such as blueprints, customer quotes, purchase orders, and customer standards. Ability to interface with internal customers and outside vendors via electronic communications and in person, in a professional manner.
Mathematical Skills - Basic to advanced geometry and trigonometry, are required to perform accurate print reviews. May assist in the creation of departmental and project budgets.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, analyze situations, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret a wide range of technical instructions and pass that information on to others.
Physical Demands - This position requires a combination of high pace activity and periods of sedentary activity.
Work Environment - The work environment for this position is primarily that of an industrial machine shop and production facility. Employee will frequently change locations throughout the day and will be in the shop as well as an office environment. Loud noises, sharp objects and heavy equipment are encountered on a daily basis.
Computer Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, understanding of CNC Coding, Solidworks, and ERP Systems.
