Our Commissioning Project Engineers and/or Technicians generally participate in a variety of project activities, including meetings, reviews, site visits, document production, system troubleshooting and field activities. This position typically supports the Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer or Senior Technician; may direct the activities of junior personnel; and may coordinate the activities of clients, contractors and subcontractors. The successful candidates for these positions generally have 3 years’ experience in the firm’s primary service activities and possess basic systems knowledge and good skill sets.

Project Engineer or Engineering Technician Requirements
* 3 years’ experience in at least one of the following: testing, adjusting and balancing; controls; MEP and control system design; energy auditing; commissioning; retro-commissioning; and/or construction
* Basic understanding of common mechanical, electrical and control systems
* Basic understanding of sustainability, energy management principals and energy efficiency strategies
* Proven problem-solving ability
* Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
* Good analytical, organizational and planning abilities
* Good communication skills, oral and written
* Ability to work independently or as part of a project team
* Ability to carry out written and oral instructions
* Ability to take direction from clients, management and co-workers
* Ability to work with a diverse group of people
* Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines
* Ability to participate in multiple concurrent projects
* Ability to travel (local and out-of-state), including multi-day travel, as needed
* Ability to work overtime hours as needed
* Physical ability to perform field tasks in existing buildings and on construction sites

Desired (but not required) Qualifications
* Engineering or other degree
* Relevant technical certifications or licenses from organizations such as USGBC ( i.e. LEED AP), AABC (CxA), ASHRAE and/or BCA
