Quality experience in a metal fabrication setting is required.
Supports the Quality Control Manager to implement, and manage the quality assurance function to the requirements of current Merrill Fab Standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
•Review fabricated components to assure that they meet or exceed drawing specifications for fit, form and function.
•Assure that painted products are completed to the specifications for blast profile, temperature requirements and dry film thickness.
•Work as a liaison between engineering and the fabrication department to develop product and to assure drawings reflect as built conditions.
•Witness critical operations and report any deviations from specifications, codes, or standards.
•Testing of new hire welding qualifications and destructive qualification testing.
•Monitor calibrations are scheduled and submitted in accordance with Merrill Fab procedures.
•Assure compliance of the quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and standards for raw materials and for in-process and finished products.
•Audit quality systems, initiating corrective action as required.
•Follow the inspection and sampling techniques and quality assurance plans.
•Follow the process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards.
•Assist in the training for the quality related practices and system requirements.
•Produce quality reports; analyze information, and address and resolve problem areas.
•Address and resolve quality issues to improve levels of profitability, quality and productivity.
•Provide technical assistance to customers, vendors, and other departments of the company.
•Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product, quality standards, or method of manufacture where warranted.
•Review all complaints received from customers to determine root cause and corrective action.
•Provide assistance to customers regarding quality problems or concerns.
•Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures and all quality and safety regulations
