Reports directly to General Manager and oversees and coordinates the activities of the Lathe Department to help ensure production targets. This includes assisting with all material supply and any other operational areas as needed, as well as performing their regularly assigned job duties to company expectations. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Lead and direct the work of others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
•Assure compliance of quality standards throughout all production operations within the Cell.
•Consult with Quality Department regarding accept or reject decisions.
•Enforce quality expectations with regard to the quality plans.
•Monitor delegated daily activities.
Set-up for and instruct Machine Operators of lesser experience and help diagnose.
•Must have the ability to teach programming using CAD/CAM software to machinists of lesser or no experience.
•Must be able to support all aspects of design and programming to optimize MOMs to support Best Machining Practices.
•Recommend tooling applications and operational sequence to assist in developing practical programming for new production and unusual prototype machining requirements.
•Plan and establish work schedules and shift assignments to meet production goals.
•Optimize existing work to maintain and/or increase profitability.
•Verify department hours in timekeeping software for accuracy.
•Train, coordinate, motivate and develop the production of co-workers.
•Report on cell production performance and drive continuous improvement processes/activities.
•Monitor, enforce and maintain a clean and safe work environment and compliance to company policies and procedures.
•Assist in conducting timely employee performance evaluations by providing constructive feedback to General Manager.
Qualifications: candidates must possess the following for consideration:
•Ability to lift up to 10 pounds intermittently.
•Ability to stand 100% of work day; occasionally bend or twist.
